YOUTH-SPECIFIC SERVICES
KIDS HELP PHONE

The Kids Help Phone provides free anonymous phone and web counselling services to youth aged 20 and under and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They provide services in French and English.
There are nine options for accessing support:
Phone. This is a live, anonymous counselling session conducted over the telephone.
Ask us online. This is where youth can post a question and receive a personalized, written answer from a counsellor.
Live Chat. This service is available Thursdays through Sundays, 1800- 2400 hrs, EST and involves live online chatting between a youth and a counsellor.
Info Booth. This space is a knowledge repository on the subjecls youth most often seek assistance. Organized by topics, each area links to interactive tools and other links.
Virtual Support Community. These forums allow youth to post questions, which are responded to by counsellors. The questions and answers are available for all to see.
Interactive Games and Tools. Created with youth input, these games and tools are offered in various format. Each has a clinical goal.
Your Space. This space encourages youth to explore various subjects, use interactive tools and explore content relevant to adolescent development.
Always There Mobile App. The application, available for all cellular telephones, allows youth to access counsellors and resources while they are mobile.
Community Resource Database. This is the largest community resource database for youth in Canada. The database contains over 46,000 programs serving more than 17,500 communities in Canada.
OK2BEME
OK2BME is a set of free, supportive services for LGBTQ+ identified children, teens and their families. The OK2BME program consists of three unique areas including confidential counselling services, an OK2BME Youth Group for individuals 13-18 as well as public education, consulting and training around LGBTQ+ issues.

Here 24/7 is your front door to the addictions, mental health and crisis services provided by 12 agencies across Waterloo – Wellington – Dufferin. All you need to do is reach out to us. We do the intake, assessment, referral, crisis, waitlist and appointment booking work for these important programs. It’s our job to be your guide, figure out your needs and help you navigate the system. This leaves you free to focus on maintaining hope and pursuing recovery.

Provides suicide intervention and prevention services to youth, their families, as well as support to families who have lost someone to suicide. It is an online portal, called the "Online Lifeline", that can be accessed through their website.
YOUTH LINE

This is an Ontario-based service for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirit or queer youth. It is a peer support service where the person providing support is a youth who has dealt with similar issues.

CANADIAN ARMED FORCES MEMBER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CFMAP)
The Canadian Armed Forces Member Assistance Program is a voluntary and confidential service to help regular force members, reserve force members, cadets, and their families who have concerns or issues that affect their personal well-being or work performance.
Issues that can be addressed include:
- marital and family,
- interpersonal relations,
- personal and emotional,
- stress and burn-out,
- work-related, including harassment and sexual assault,
- alcohol, drugs and prescription drugs, and
- any other concerns that affect or could affect personal well-being and/or work performance.
The service is a short-term problem-solving service. Referrals can be given when the situation warrants longer-term counselling.
